DESCRIPTION:Department Information-Contact\, Louise Best -Department Clean up-Auxiliary Catering \nLaverne Russell Best\n1941-2019\n \nLaverne Russell Best – age 77\, of Greenwood\, formerly of Cambridge\, passed away on Thursday\, February 21\, 2019\, in the Valley Regional Hospital\, Kentville. Born on October 14\, 1941\, he was a son of the late Grant and Essadora (Russell) Best. Laverne had been employed for many years as a fork lift operator at Scotian Gold Coldbrook and had been a member of the Waterville and District Volunteer Fire Department. He had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He is survived by wife\, Joyce (Barkhouse); daughter\, Louise Best\, Greenwood; sons\, Russell\, Cambridge and Leslie\, Morden; grandchildren\, Codi\, Nick\, Karli\, Katie and Cole; great-grandson\, Ethan; sister\, Gloria Redden\, South Alton\, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers\, Alden\, Delmar\, Harley and Sheldon. Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or funeral service\, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services\, Kentville.
